Contraband Arrest at Telfair State Prison

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,081 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the stat

On June 23 at Telfair State Prison, the perimeter officer observed an unknown person throwing 2 items over the perimeter fence. Security staff recovered 2 cans containing unknown contraband. Telfair County Sherriff’s Office arrested one civilian exiting the wood-line near the institution and he was transported to Telfair County Jail.
