Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,064 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the stat

On May 20 at Calhoun State Prison, Civilian Victory Nnoroum and Civilian Daniel Kim were observed by Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office coming out of a wooded area west of the Warden’s house. The following contraband was recovered: 9.4 ounces of marijuana, 4 phones, 1, phone charger, 1 crossbow, 1 arrow and 100 feet of plastic cord. Civilian Nnoroum and Civilian Kim were arrested by Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and transported to Calhoun County Jail

On May 19 at Telfair State Prison, during a search of an offender after visitation, 134 grams of marijuana and 30 grams of meth were discovered. Visitor Isaiah Hope was arrested by Telfair County Sheriff's Office and transported to Telfair County Jail.

On May 16 at Dooly State Prison, during a random search, Officer Shanlonia Taylor was found to have 5 bundles of tobacco on her person. Officer Taylor was arrested by Dooly County Sheriff’s Office.
