Inmate Death Under Investigation

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) is investigating the death of an inmate at Baldwin State Prison in Hardwick, Ga., as a suspected homicide.
Agents have reason to believe offender David Watson (GDC#1000762904) died as a result of injuries sustained during an altercation involving another inmate on June 5. He was pronounced deceased at 9:10am. GDC in conjunction with the GBI is conducting an investigation into the death, as standard procedure.
Watson was sentenced to serve 25 years in 2011, in Coweta County for Aggravated Sexual Battery.
