LaSandra Lofton Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Interim Commissioner Timothy C. Ward announced the promotion of LaSandra Lofton to Deputy Warden of Security at Wilcox State Prison (SP), effective December 1, 2018. As Deputy Warden of Security, Lofton will be responsible for overseeing approximately 270 staff members and 1,827 medium security offenders.

“Lofton’s 24 years of experience will serve her well in her new role,” said Interim Commissioner Timothy C. Ward. “She has made an impact in every position she’s held, and we look forward to seeing her excel at Wilcox SP.”

Lofton began her career with GDC in 1994 as a Correctional Officer at Macon SP. In 2003, she was promoted to Sergeant at Autry SP and later that year, transferred to the Charles D. Hudson Transitional Center as a Sergeant. Lofton was promoted to Lieutenant at Rutledge SP in 2010, and in 2012 was promoted to Chief of Security at Metro Transitional Center. In 2016, Lofton was promoted to Assistant Superintendent at Metro Transitional Center, where she currently serves.

Lofton has completed the following departmental training: Basic Correctional Officer Training, Professional Management Program, Basic Management Training, Advanced Management Training, Correctional Leadership Institute and Assistant Superintendent Training.
