Jordan Wicker Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Interim Commissioner Timothy C. Ward announced the promotion of Jordan Wicker to Deputy Warden of Security at Telfair State Prison (SP), effective December 1, 2018. As Deputy Warden of Security, Wicker will be responsible for overseeing approximately 289 staff members and 1,373 close-security male offenders at the facility.

“Wicker has shown exceptional leadership skills in each position he’s held within the department,” said Interim Commissioner Timothy C. Ward. “His training and experience will serve him well in his new role.”

Wicker began his career with GDC in 2006 as a Correctional Officer at Dodge SP. In 2012 he was promoted to Sergeant at Johnson SP, then in 2013, he was promoted to Lieutenant.  In 2016, he transferred to Telfair SP as Lieutenant and later that year was promoted to Chief of Security at Smith SP.  In 2018, Wicker was promoted to Unit Manager at Johnson SP, where he currently serves.

Wicker is currently pursuing his bachelor of science degree in Psychology from Walden University. He has completed the following departmental training: Basic Correctional Officer Training, Basic Management Training and Sergeants Academy.
