Vera Harden Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier announced the promotion of Vera Harden to Deputy Warden of Administration at Augusta State Medical Prison (ASMP), effective October 16, 2018. As Deputy Warden of Administration, Harden will be responsible for overseeing the Business Office, Property/Supply Operations and Food Service departments at the facility, which houses over 1,300 close security male offenders.

“Ms. Harden has served diligently with the agency for 20 years and we look forward to the accounting and business operations knowledge she will bring to Augusta State Medical Prison,” said Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier.

Harden began her career with the Department in 1998 as an Accounting Clerk at Hancock State Prison.In 1999, she was promoted to Accountant Paraprofessional and served in this capacity until she was promoted to Administrative Operations Coordinator in 2005 and later, Business Manager at Hancock State Prison, where she has overseen the business office, warehouse and commissary operations.

Harden has completed the Correctional Leadership Institute, the Professional Management Program, Basic Management Training, the Primary Governmental Accounting series (GAAP), Basic and Advanced Purchasing.
