Justin Mock Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier announced the promotion of Justin Mock to Deputy Warden of Security at Lee Evidence Based Prison (EBP) effective September 1, 2017. Mock will be responsible for supervising and managing all security staff and the overall management and operation of the facility located in Leesburg, Ga. Lee EBP currently houses 730 special mission male offenders. The facility uses research-based methods to reduce recidivism and improve offender behavior.

“Justin is committed to our mission of operating safe and secure facilities,” said Commissioner Dozier. “With over 16 years of experience, and a vast knowledge of security operations, he is a great fit for this unique facility.”

Mock began his career with the Georgia Department of Corrections in 2001 as a Correctional Officer at Calhoun State Prison (SP). During his tenure, he served as Sergeant, Lieutenant, Tactical Squad Commander, acting Captain and Unit Manager.  In 2017, Justin was promoted to Chief of Security at Calhoun SP, where he currently serves.

Mock has completed the following departmental training: Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT), Supervision 1, 2 and 3, Basic Management Training (BMT), and the Professional Management Program (PMP).  In addition, Mock has the following certifications:  Glock Firearms, Field Training Officer, Taser X2, Pepper ball, Bandit, and Shock Shield.

The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 52,000 state prisoners. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 10,500 employees.
