New Deputy Warden Named at Pulaski State Prison

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier announced the promotion of Jeannie Lancaster to Deputy Warden of Administration at Pulaski State Prison (SP) effective February 1, 2017. As Deputy Warden, Lancaster will be responsible for overseeing the Business Office, Property/Supply Operations, Maintenance and Food Service departments at the facility housing over 1,100 medium security female offenders in Hawkinsville, Ga.
“Jeannie has dedicated 20 years of faithful service to the Department,” said Commissioner Dozier. “Her vast knowledge will continue to positively impact Pulaski State Prison.”
Lancaster began her career with the Department in 1997 as a Correctional Officer at Wilcox SP. She later transferred to Pulaski SP in the same capacity. In 1999, she transitioned into the Business Office at Pulaski SP, serving as an Accounting Tech and Accountant Paraprofessional. In 2007, Lancaster was promoted to Business Manager at Pulaski SP, where she currently serves. In this role, she also serves as the Business Manager for the Bleckley Probation Detention Center.
Lancaster has completed the following departmental training: Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT), Governmental Accounting, and various state purchasing training courses.
The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 52,000 state prisoners. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 10,500 employees.
